Ann Jackman | Bright Star Houseboat
Moored on The Thames opposite Hampton Court Palace Estate, interior designer Ann Jackman, loves the peace and calm of life on the river.
Naturally, when she redecorated she wanted to create a colour scheme that connected to the outside environment.
The three tones of grey, are the perfect backdrop, to reflect the river, accessorised with blues and green, to draw in the colours of the surrounding countryside.
Ann chose eggshell on all surfaces for extra durability in the following colours:
- Wall colour – Summer Rain
- Ceiling colour – Dolphin
- Cupboards, swan doors, hatch and shutters – Barnacle
” The greys reflect the river and surrounding countryside in the Autumn and Winter and the blues and greens are a perfect reflection of the Spring and Summer months. The dark grey of the cupboards and other woodwork, comes into its own in the evenings, creating a darker and cosier feel to the rooms. I chose Fenwick and Tilbrook not just for the colours, but because a tough finish is crucial when decorating boat interiors. My decorator said that the primer/undercoat was the best he had ever used.”
